![]() ![]() It’s just so fun and laugh out loud funny! India Holton has become an automatic buy author for me, because she has surpassed all of my expectations. I would say that if you enjoyed Something Fabulous by Alexis Hall, you have to read this series. I am having the time of my life reading it. There are flying houses, knives to throats, assassins who are butlers and a variety of other frankly bonkers things. The sequel centres Charlotte Pettifer, a witch and Alex O’Reily, a pirate – both going after the same thing. It is entirely ridiculous and delightfully charming. Not only does Holton treat us to a fiery feminist witch as our heroine and a dashing pirate as our leading man, but she also gives us lyrical prose and crackling banter to enjoy on the side. Though this series is a historical romance fantasy, it is much more than that. 'Sexy, funny, and utterly charming, The League of Gentlewomen Witches is like a deliciously over-caffeinated historical romance novel. ![]() I’m only 100 pages into the sequel but India Holton’s writing, her humour and her characters are exquisite. The League of Gentlewomen Witches by India Hilton is book two in the Dangerous Damsels series, following on from The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels. This week I’ve only really been reading one book because I am obsessed. This is coming to you a day late – I’ve been on thesis deadlines and I have no spare time during the day!! But I’m currently in bed, my book handy and NCIS LA cued up to play so I thought, what a perfect time to give y’all a reading update! ![]()
